When did Jeep Cherokee engines start using fly by wire?

We have a Jeep cherokee with a blown engine, and we are looking for replace it... what year did the engine change to fly by wire?

It is known as the ECT, or electronic throttle control. It became available in 2005; when the hemi became an option on the Grand Cherokee.

i think your talking about coil packs and i think they changed in 99 or oo because i have a 98 cherokee and it has a distributor

In the UK, the fly by wire was introduced with the round headlight models in 2002.
