Are you trying to transfer music to your phone?
If so, this happens because the phone doesn't connect in the right mode. Its easy enough to fix - you just need to change the default connection mode. I found a forum post that explains what to do, its based on the viewty, but is exactly the same for the cookie and the renoir.
To change the default connection method, you'll need to disconnect the USB cable from the phone and then on the phone go to
Settings > Connectivity > USB Connection > Music Sync (or always ask, in case you sometimes will want to sync or use storage)
It will confirm its been saved, and then you can plug the cable back in.
Your PC will probably say that there is new hardware detected, just leave it for a minute or two to finish doing its thing and then you should be good to go. Your phone should display "Music Sync Connected" with a cancel button at the bottom of the screen.
If you launch the music app again now from the PC Suite, your phone should be connected and you'll be able to transfer your music over.
Another way of doing it is to connect in mass storage, and your PC should then just see it as an extra storage drive and you can just drag and drop your mp3's into the relevant folder - having said that, mine didn't have a music folder when I tried this way, but that might be because I've not got any music on the phone yet!
