What would Colin Chapmans choice of fuel for his superbly successful lotus team?

I'm thinking of the major works team lotus races. championships that made them famous, such as formula 1 and le mans as well as the early british championships. Would it have been shell?

In F1, Shell was indeed used by the works Lotuses up until 1970, but they switched to Texaco in 1971. When they linked up with Renault in 1983 they used the Elf brand, but that was after Chapman's time.
