Take care of your valuables when out and about. Go on safari as its a memorable experience. visit the beach and see if you can go to some of the islands ( Wasini island is my favorite) for corral reef diving or ride on a Dhow.

If you of age you can visit some of the local clubs, however for security have the hotel to arrange a cab driver to transport you to and from the club ( tip extra and the hotel driver might do that for you).

Most places allow for late bookings. ask the front desk if attractions/trips you want to make need bookings(some safari's do need reservations). make sure to visit fort Jesus and old town in which has not really changed since the Portuguese ruled Mombasa(due to Islamic culture its advisable to have something to cover up not a must but out of respect just in case you end up in a place where its more conservative). it takes about a day to go thru the old town.

try to visit Haller park, the gedi ruins, mamba village and some historical Hindu temples.

there is a lot to do in and around Mombasa so be careful, enjoy your trip and take lots of pictures.

Do be extremely careful with your valuables, stay in a group if outside the hotel's boundaries and watch out for one another; don't go out at night.
Do go on a safari if you get a chance: it's well worth the money, and safer as mostly you have only non-human animals to worry about.
