Thinking of going to Malaysia, Indonesia, Borneo, Papua New Guinea and Darwin?

Question

This is initial planning, so i haven't done any research yet, but has anyone got any advice, imparticulaly cost of getting around. I understand some practicality isses (espcially with papua new guinea at the moment), but i will leave that till later.

I plan to travel from east to west starting in Malaysia and ending in Darwin as i'll be coming from Japan. Any ideas on total costs and how long to take would be great.

It will be in february anyway, im not worrying issues of international travel yet, i will evaluate any threats closer to the time

Cheers, but don't really need details on darwin, i went there a couple of years ago.

Don't do it. International travel bad idea right now.

i stayed in ymca in darwin just north of town it was very cheap especially as had own single room say £4 a night meeting loads of aussie long time residents(most dodgy) 3months sounds o.k and about £3000 should be o.k after flights but its very rough guide
