Cheap self-catering accommodation in Positano/Amalfi Coast?

Question

I'm looking to take my boyfriend to Italy in September and have fallen in love with the thought of the Amalfi coast. A friend recommended Positano. Would like to stay in self catering accommodation but a hotel would be fine. Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations of cheap apartments/hotels? Also, any tips on transport from Naples to Amalfi/Positano?

That's a good recommendation, that part of the Italian coastline is nothing short of spectacular. Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi are all great, beautiful views and scenic drives.

Try this link for self catering accommodation http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/conca… it's for Positano but...here are some tips:
- scroll down to the hotel search enter some dates and wait for the hotel search results (Don't worry that it says hotels and not apartments)
- when the results are returned you can check the Sorrento options or enter "Positano" into the search
- Now see the bottom left of the menu where it say "property type" uncheck all the blocks except for "Apartment", and it will leave you with a choice of apartments
- Do read through the tourist reviews (if they have) they are a really good insight

Try visiting the Homelidays.com site, I found the other sites only offered the top end of the range villas... You can find a lovely ordinary house on homelidays, and usually the ads are well detailed.
