Hi,

like it was said before, yes, you as a single woman will be accepted, especially as a tourist. LOL

If you are concerned being a single woman in Abu Dhabi, please let me give you some tips:

Just follow a simple dress code: swim wear at the beach, "normal" clothes every where else, especially when visiting the souqs, heritage sites and restaurants. Also when the UAE is a very safe country, no need to forget about the basics. Never get into a car with somebody you just met. Try to avoid walking Sheikh Zayed the 1st St (Electra) and malls like Madinat Zayed Shopping Center and Hamdan Center on Fridays.
If you want to go shopping at the souqs, you have to be a strong bargain woman or merchants will take advantage of you being a female tourist. Same in the old shopping malls.
If taking a cab, watch the metre. Tipping is on you only and the driver is entitled to the fees shown by the metre only. (They still try to rip off female tourists, especially at night).

If you need any more info about Abu Dhabi, please feel free to email me. Welcome!

Ah don't worry. I've been to Abu Dhabi before (for a visit during the summer) and I absolutely LOVE IT. There was totally no sexist crap like in afghanistan not accepted ect. Abu dhabi is like the best place for women to go to b/c nothing happens there like crimes or women not being accepted b/c they don't wear a hijab or they're all alone with no man ect. It's fine there. Totally they will accept women. Everyone's fine there.

you dont have to worry about being a single woman in dubai at all.

you dont have to wear the veil but i suggest as a women you wear something a little modest. you can still wear 'normal clothes' but nothing to skimpy. if your going to the souk or rual areas especially dress modest. females already face tons of male harrasment veiled or not wearing certain clothing would only trigger more of this.

dont go to a hotel room or jump into a car with soemone you just met especially a local man. i would tell you what happens but i think you get the jist.

the best palce to get cheap cheap clothing is the souk but dubai has a lovely mall so enjoy:)

u should have no problem, just be prepared for male attention if its obvious ur on yr own which we are not used to in the uk, mostly its pretty harmless and very safe there there will be plenty of women around so dont worry just dress modestly and dont draw attention to yourself. have a great holiday

UAE is fine about such matters, it's Saudi Arabia that's strict on those issues. Welcome to Dubai and enjoy your stay!
