Ferrari supplies F1 engines to Torro Rosso but is it the same engine as that Ferrari uses?

Ferrari supplies F1 engines to Torro Rosso but is it the same engine as that Ferrari uses or is it an old model. The same goes for Mclaren and Brawn sharing the same engines. Does Mclaren get the superior engine or is it all equal?

The customer spec engines as they are known, are pretty much identical to that of the factory teams engines, but they are bought of the shelf essentially, without the level of support and development a factory team would have, ie you will always see Norbert Haug (boss of Mercedes motor sport) at the McLaren garage, not at the Brawn garage. As Stuart said the latest updates will always go to the main team first then filter down to the customer teams.
Good question, hope this helps.
