What is the cheapest and easiest transport to use on the strip in Las Vegas?

I am going there next month and I have only noticed that everything is quite far apart what would be the cheapest way of getting around. I am staying at the Mirage

Thanks

Below is the whole story about strip travel. Other than walking, there are free trams between a few specific hotels. The "Deuce" double decker bus is a cheap but very crowded trip that travels the entire strip. The site states that the fare is $2. It has been changed to $3 one way. There is also a monorail between some areas...check out the map.

The easiest way is a cab. You don't have to wait at a stop or squeeze in and then stand for the ride. You may however have to stand in line for a cab ride at the big hotels.

well when i was there i used to get around the strip by walking. Trust me it was ALOT of walking but if you want to can pay the double floor bus that travel up and down the strip something like 20 US for a 24hr pass. So you can just catch that up and down the strip. Simple as that really. The mirage is quite nice the volcano show looks great on a night. Enjoy!

Yes, they are very far apart. When I went, I walked to most of them but there is a tram that runs the whole strip, the only bad part is that the tram is kind of in back of the Hotel's so to get on and off you have to go around the block. It's not expensive and cheaper then a taxi.

The Strip is a 4 mile lonnnnng walk from Sahara Hotel to Mandalay Bay. You can rent a car if you travel a lot or you can take the CAT bus system that runs up and down the Strip (weekly pass). Cabs can become costly

we just got back from las vegas last week, we took the deuce everywhere, it was only really crowded late at night when we were coming back from fremont street, i think it cost us $15 each for a 3 day pass, very good deal compared to all the walking you would have to do

Cabs are expensive, so that's a no.

The Deuce (bus system) spends all day running up and down the strip with bus stops available in front of most hotels. You pay $7 for a 24 hour pass (or $3 for a one way) and you can hop on and off it as much as you want. They are expected to pick up at each stop at least every 15 minutes.

If you want to get somewhere fast, use the monorail. It is located in select hotels on the strip and costs $5 for one ride, or $12 for a 24 hour pass. It gets you from one place to another in like 60 seconds. It is never crowded and there isn't any hassle involved with it. http://www.lvmonorail.com/

You could also walk. It is a long distance, but with as much as there is to see, you don't notice it. There are no big open spaces with nothing, the strip is jam packed with hotels, shops, and restaurants. You actually end up doing more walking because you end up stopping and walking through hotels to see what they are like. I love walking up and down the strip. The only time I use the bus or monorail, is if I have a time limit to get somewhere.

Legs are cheapest (for walking), then a bike (but this one is REALLY not safe) then the bus. The Mirage is pretty centrally located on the Strip. You really don't HAVE to go to Mandalay Bay or the Stratosphere. You've got Caesar's, TI, the Flamingo, Harrahs, Imperial Palace, Bally's etc right there. Take a cab one day downtown to Fremont St to see the Experience and don't try to do the entire town in one visit. Don't worry, if you've seen one casino, you've seen them all.

You can walk but seeing things down the street can be deceptive it is a lot further than you think. The bus is cheap and goes up and down the strip.

The Deuce bus rides all along the Strip as well as to Fremont Street. It's $3 each way, $7 for a 24-hour pass or $15 for a 3-day pass. Slower than a cab, but a heck of a lot cheaper.

I stayed at the Mirage and walked everywhere. Everything is not as far apart as you think. The longest walks I had was down to the Stratosphere and to the Palms. Next time, I'd take a cab to the Palms and I'd ride the monorail to the Stratosphere. You'll also have to take a cab or a bus to Fremont St.

There is a monorail that has stops at several hotels across the street from the Mirage. It was inexpensive, $6 maybe, and ran down to the Sahara. The closest stop for you would be across the street at Harrah's.

If you walk down to Excalibur, NY NY and Luxor, there is a monorail that runs between those three hotels. There's also a monorail that runs between Mirage and Treasure Island. I think those monorails are silly because they are not far walks.

All of the sidewalks have walkways over busy Las Vegas Blvd and several of the hotels are connected through walkways as well.

I did a ton of walking but it wasn't as bad and spread out as I thought it would be. Like I said, the worst walks were to the Palms and Stratosphere because they were long and there was nothing to see in between. The Palms crosses over a major highway with a long walkway taking you over it and on the way to the Stratosphere was nothing but construction.

You could also buy a pass for the Deuce bus. I don't know much about it because I did not do it, but a friend of mine did and she liked it.

Walking is really the best. You get exercise and you can pop in out of hotels, casinos and stores you discover along the way to your destination.

Walking is a good idea so you can see everything or stop and look at something which you cant do if your driving or in a taxi. The bus runs the strip and goes to Freemont St . The Monorail system is nice but it does not stop at every hotel it spaces them out. Taxis get can get costly.

Honestly? The cheapest and easiest is foot power. I know, it sounds all kinds of crazy, but traffic here can suck royally - rendering a rental car more annoying than useful and cabs costly. The Mirage is centrally located, so going to Bellagio, TI, the Venetian & Palazzo, and Caesar's is going to be relatively easy - they're all kind of close together - for this town. If you're going to someplace like MGM or Mandalay, it is a do-able walk - it's just going to FEEL like forever. That trip - or to the Hard Rock or Palms/Rio would be worth the cab ride.
