Is it really near the train station? Also where is the nearest travelodge or cheap family hotel? Thanks

Yes, the Millennium Stadium is right in the centre of the town, just a short walk from Central train station. There is a Holiday Inn not far from the stadium in Castle street.

Yes, it's a couple of hundred yards from Cardiff Central, maybe half a mile from Queen Street Station. There are plenty of hotels in Cardiff, just Google Cardiff Hotels and you should find something decent.
