Magalluf, Mallorca, Spain?

Question

Hi, I've booked a holiday for my two children (aged 12 and 16) to Mallorca, and have booked a hotel in Magalluf called HM Martinique Hotel.

I've heard many people say that Magalluf may not be the best option as a family holiday, as it can get very hectic with the nightclubs etc. But, I have booked it for the EASTER holidays (April 2009), so hopefully it won't be as "wild" as if I go in June, July or August.

Can anyone please tell me who has been to Magalluf, or Mallorca, or who has strong contact with it for whatever reason (e.g., maybe a relative lives there) how it usually is in April. Is it peaceful, as I don't want my children to maybe be woken up in the middle of the night because there is lots of noise coming from the nightclubs etc? Any people who have also stayed in the hotel, please tell me how you found it. Also, how is Magalluf itself, are there many shops or is it mainly beach?

Magaluff is always busy but at easter it will be mainly families, most of it doesn't open till may as it is still cold until mid may. We went to Arenal end of may and it was warm during the day but cold in the evening. Try Trip Adviser for peoples opinion and hotel opinion. Iv just googled it for you and it says its the noisiest hotel in magaluff, there is a section on the web called alpha rooms and people give opinions from every month there, April -someonen said it was fantastic, the hotel has a family section and a young crowd section and because the crowd of young girls were partying they got moved to the young crowd section, there was a group of 20- 20-30 age group female there and they had the party of their life? I wouldnt expect a rest by the sound of it.
