Are there any other options for car renting without a credit card in Ireland?

Question

I reserved a car 2 weeks ago and called today to double check my confirmation for next week. It was then that I was told that my debit card wasn't accepted (Thanks Enterprise). So...now I'm really in for it. I'll be travelling next week (4/2 - 4/9) and I need a car. (Especially since my hotels in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Dublin are paid for.) Help? If you can? Please?

credit card is a must as far as i no for all rentals

Hi, I've hired a car from Thrifty Car Rental in Lombard Street East, Dublin 2 - 00 353 (0)1 670 7890 with a Visa Debit Card without any problems.
They also have a depots at Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport & Cork (Just reading the leaflet)

You can get a coach from Dublin direct to Cork, Limerick & Galway City and from/to each other (except Cork to Galway I think).

Trains are another option but limited routes and expensive if you don't pre-book.

From what I have seen from booking my upcoming trip a credit card is mandatory to rent a car. I would maybe look at taking the train or bus to your destinations

Take travellers cheques with you. You can get them at Thomas Cookes

Why not get a credot card that is valid.
