Which hotel in Istanbul between 27/05 and 2/05?

I've been doing loads of research about hotels in Istanbul before finally agreeing on Hotel Evsen as it was ranked number 7 on trip advisor about a month ago. However just checking again the rating has fallen to 67 and the last few people have complained about the room and the level of noise! I really someone can help me especially if you are really familiar with Istanbul to let me know which hotel is good and not too expensive! I am wiling to pay up to £60 a night for 2 people between 27/04 and 2/05. Thank you very much for your time and help!

I recommend you Star Hotel, it is very clean, in a quiet street, has great breakfast, is reasonably priced, has very friendly service, has A/C that works, CNN on TV and is within walking distance of Topkapi and Haghia Sophia.

If you really like to stay in Topkapi Palace area and have a bit of sense of history and Ottoman authenticity try Soguk Cesme Sokagi - It is called The Ayasofya Pension where 19th century Ottoman homes adjacent to the Hagia Sofia now serving as bed and breakfast for tourists. This street is closed to the traffic so I would imagine the level of noise should be next to nothing. Though I have a place to stay in Istanbul, I would still like to have the experience of staying there! Here is the web site for this place http://www.oldistanbul.com/ayasofya.html
Enjoy your time in Istanbul :)

Search for hotels in or near Sultanahmet or Taksim. That would be convenient. Four Seasons in Sultanahmet is an excellent hotel, but a bit expensive.
You can also try the hotels at Ortakoy and Bebek. Bebek is a very lovely neighborhood. Also there is a place called Nisantasi which is very chic. Ortakoy neighborhood is also fantastic, has an amazing view.
But again a hotel in Sultanahmet or taksim will be more convenient for you, if this is your first time in Istanbul.
