Can anyone please suggest a good but inexpensive b&b or hotel in Guernsey. Thanks?

Preferably near the harbour or within St Peter Port. We are going at end of this month (march 09) and are trying to keep the cost down as much as possible. only likely to need one or two nights as we are then moving on to another island.

There are not too many cheap hotels in the town centre.

Sunnycroft is in the town centre but you have to climb quite a few steps. The advantage to that is its a fairly quiet area.

Another option would be the Captain Cook hotel which is just outside of the main town area.

I haven't actually stayed at the above hotels so can only really give an opinion on their location and priced. The further out you are willing to stay the better price you can usually get. The bus service is regular so it may be worth considering staying slightly further out.
