Where can I find the cheapest hotels?

Question

I'm travelling to Norway in Oslo on the 28th March and returning back to the UK on the 30th. During the short stay I intend to spend as little as possible, primarily on the hotel.

Norway is a very expensive destination and wouldn't want the expense of things to ruin my trip.

I've tried booking.com, lastminute.com and travelsupermarket.com. The lowest I could achieve was £40 per night or £80 for the 2 nights stay.
Preferbly I would much prefer something lower if it is possible, is there anthing lower on the dates I arrive?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I know you asked for hotels, but if you are ok with hostels then this site worked well for me on my travels. I believe it also returns results for hotels, apartments, etc. so it may be good all-around search tool.

I searched given the information you gave and it looks like you might be able to get a private room in a hostel for 29 a night. Actual hotels would cost you more.

i live here in the states so i always use Priceline or Hotwire. Certainly there has to be sumthin like that in your area...i think travelocity has a uk sight...igougo does i believe. My last 5 trips have been thru a sight like this.
