How much is a taxi from the O2 to waterloo?

Question

I'm going to the O2 in june and trying to decide whether to get a hotel for the night and travel home in the morning or get the train back to southampton the same night.

I'd rather get the train back the same night cos last time I went there the hotel cost me and my friend £56 each for 1 night and that was the cheapest one anywhere near the O2, but I dont fancy getting the tube at that time of night.

Thanks guys for the advice about the tube. I'll probably do that, taxi will probably cost a fortune!

Plus at the end of the day, I am going to a Boyzone gig so I think I'll be safe in their company! not too scary lol

Presumably you are going to a show or similar event which finishes quite late and then approx 20,000 people will leave the O2 and a very large percentage of them will head for the tube station - you will not be alone on the tube or in any sort of danger with so many people about - it will not be like riding an empty train with a few undesirables about.

take the tube - it is a very straightforward trip to Waterloo - which will also be very busy. I am sure you will be quite safe in London.

The O2 is not anywhere near Waterloo so it could be quite expensive. I would imagine if you pre-booked a mini cab it would be around £30 - £40. It's really far far quicker to get the tube from North Greenwich to Waterloo and much cheaper too. The tube is not scary at all from those locations at that time of night - the bit where you get drunk people getting on is not really on the Jubilee line or if they do, they tend to just be sitting there not bothering anyone. There will be tons of people who have just been to the same gig / exhibition as you anyway so it's not like you'll be on your own.

I would really suggest getting the tube. It would be much cheaper and it really isn't that bad. Taxis are very expensive and its only a couple of stops.
