Depends what method.

If you go by bus, it will also depend how many stops it makes before your stop. Generally speaking, it should be about 30-40 mins depending on traffic by bus or car. During rush hour, it could be close to an hour. During light traffic times, it might only be 20-25 mins.

Nj transit trains take about 20 mins to get into the city. From there, about 10 mins by taxi, or maybe 20 by subway.

My friend, save your money and take the train rather than the express coach. Here how to get from Newark Airport to the Wellington Hotel, which is located at the corner of 56th Street and 7th Avenue.

Step 1: take the Airtrain from the terminal to the Newark-Liberty International Airport train station.

Step 2: at the Newark-Liberty International Airport train station, purchase a one way NJ Transit ticket from EWR to Penn Station New York and take any New York City-bound (eastbound) train to Penn Station New York. A one way ticket on NJ Transit from EWR to New York Penn Station will cost you $15.

Step 3: once at Penn Station, transfer to the New Yorker City Subway. Take the uptown (northbound) #1, 2 or 3 lines (Red Line on the subway map) from Penn Station to Times Square.

Step 4: at Times Square. transfer upstairs to the uptown (northbound) "N", "R", "Q" or "W" lines (Yellow Line on the map). Take either line from Times Square to 57th Street.

Step 5: at 57th Street, exit the station and walk block south along 7th Avenue (away from Central Park) from the subway station to the Wellington Hotel.

Now, the fare on the subway is $2 per ride. However, if you're in town for a week or two, you can purchase a 7-day or 14-day Unlimited Ride MetroCard, which will give you unlimited rides on the City's transit system. The 7-day pass cost $25 and 14-day pass is a little higher at $47.

I hope this information is very helpful.

    Good luck

871 7th Av is located near West 56th St.
    By train
    1. Look for New Jersey Transit Ticket Vending Machines in your terminals A, B, C and purchase one way ticket from Newark Liberty International Airport to New York Penn Station which is $15.00. $5.50 fee is included.
    2. Take Airtrain Newark to Newark Liberty Airport.
    3. Transfer to inbound (NYC-bound) North Jersey Coast Line or Northeast Corridor to New York Penn Station.
4a. Exit toward 8th Av and take uptown (A) express, C local from 34th St-Penn Station to 59th St-Columbus Circle.
5a. As you get off the train, walk opposite direction from train you're on, and at end, go upstair and use exit 57th St & 7th AV SE exit, and then walk east along 57th St to 7th Av, and turn right at 7th Av and you'll see the hotel.

4a. Use 7th Av exit, and walk one block east to 34th St-Herald Square.
    4b. Take uptown (N) express (local from 34th St), (Q) express or (R) (W) local to 57th St-7th Av.
4c. Use either 57th St or 55th Sts exit.

    By Cheapest Way
New Jersey Transit Buses accepted US Dollar Bills.
    1. At your terminal, take New Jersey Transit #62 bus toward Newark Penn Station, not Perth Amboy.
    2. As you board, you only paid one zone fare of $1.35.
    3. Take that to last stop, Newark Penn Station.
    4. Follow sign to PATH train.
    5. Paid $1.75 with Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard to enter PATH System. If you're arriving Manhattan late, also put in $2.00. If not, don't put $2 yet.
    6. Take World Trade Center train to Journal Square.
    7. Take 33rd St train to 33rd St and follow sign to subway station.
    8. If you're early, you could purchase Unlimited MetroCard from NYC Subway Station at 34th St-Herald Sq.
    9. Take uptown (N)(Q)(R)(W)
