Hi i'm italian and i live in Brescia, but i've tuscan origin (Viareggio)..

well.. unfortunately the weather is very erratic 'cause you can find a sunny and warm day (23°C) or a rainy and cold day (10-15°C)

public transport are enough fast. you can catch the LAM ROSSA from the airport to the town centre
http://www.cpt.pisa.it/orari/urbano.htm
look there for the prizehttp://www.cpt.pisa.it/tariffe/tariffene…

other than "piazza dei miracoli" you can go to "piazza dei cavalieri" an important place there, there's a very prestigious university ("scuola normale superiore").
There you can find the "palazzo degli orologi" too.

other sight-seeing are "La chiesa santa maria della spina" and
"Il campo santo manumentale"

some restaurants:
- Osteria LA MESCITA, 56126 Pisa (PI) - 2, via Cavalca, telephone: 050 544294

- ANTICA TRATTORIA IL CAMPANO, 56126 Pisa (PI) - 44, via Cavalca Telephone: 050 580585

Lucca is a very beautiful town. It's square is very peculiar.
Porta san Pietro is the oldest door of lucca's walls.

    1) Weather should be springlike, but March is unpredictable
    2) I've stayed at a number - there's not a lot to choose. Try http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotels-g187… and see if any of those take your fancy.
    3) There's a bus into town. Alternatively there's a train shuttle to the main railway station. Taxis are cheap - it's not far.
    4) There are hundreds of restaurants - all good. The ones near the leaning tower cost twice as much.
    5) The Tower, Cathedral, Baptistry, Campo Santo and the museum are all next to each other - and you can buy one ticket for the lot. The rest of town is interesting - just wander around.
    6) Lucca is huge fun if you like ancient. Mind you, I'm biassed - that's where my mother's family come from. Don't miss Piazza dell'Amfiteatro. The buildings around it were built into the walls of the Roman amphitheatre, then they used the amphitheatre as a stone quarry, just leaving a circular open space.

Tips - watch your wallet, wear a hidden money pouch, and don't leave a luggage nor tote down unattended for a moment.
My son and his Italian fiance' had everything stolen from them.
