Can you buy RECCO avalanche rescue system reflectors?

Heading skiing in about a month. My gear isn't integrated with a RECCO® reflector (avalanche rescue system). I was wondering if its possible have one fitted? Or is RECCO only available on certain gear?

Yes you can. The problem with the recco system is that nobody carries detectors in the backcountry. If there were an avalanche in bounds at a ski area, the ski patrol would have one, but that's really about it. Here's some for sale.

RECCO only works at resorts equipped with the system. Many do have it, but you'll want to have a transceiver if you plan on skiing in the backcountry...and a buddy to try to find you.
