Who is your favourite role model and why?

My dad is my role model. Why? He lost his wife with four young children he needed to raise by himself, without much money after memorial expenses, and hospital bills and such. He has been extremely lonely and suffered depression for a few years after my youngest sister's birth, but he always manages to put a smile on his face for my sisters and me, even during the hardest times in his life, and that just makes him an amazing dad. He's the kind of dad I want to become when and if I ever have children. He's my favorite person in the world, and I love him for being there for me and my sisters through every single step of hardship we've ever dealt with.

my mother and 2 good friends of hers...

these women have all been through so much in their lives, but have remained incredibly strong through it all...they're an inspiration to me and have shown me that anyone can be whoever and whatever they want to be if they put their mind to it, who cares what others think :)

My Mother In Law is my role model.
I know crazy right?!
She's not only had four kids but now has 3 grandkids (one of them in mine) she's gone from being bankrupt having to live with her partners parents, to owning her own house, gone to university and now she's a nurse earning a lot of money. She works all the time, and when she gets in she cleans and cooks and looks after anyone else. She rarely thinks of herself but always has a smile on her face and a joke to crack. She's been there for me from day one and i think of her more like my mother or a friend. I just hope i can be as good a mum as she has been to everybody else.

probly noel gallagher from oasis - because he got himself out of the trouble that he was in as a teenager and sorted out his life (getting off drugs etc.) and is now in one of the best bands ever

Just like you Seann, my role model is my Dad. I chose my dad because he always makes me feel better when I don't feel so good. He always makes me laugh when I don't feel so happy. He always looks out for me. And I can't thank him enough for everything he does for me.

I don`t believe in role models as that would suggest following anothers style,thoughts,actions,morals etc,you should find yourself and be yourself,not a mini clone of one you perceive as above you

To be honest I agree with Happy Murcia. I've never really had a role model, even now as a teenager. Sure, I admire people because of work they've done, and obviously my parents have helped me along during my life, but I don't see them as role models. I'm not necessarily going to follow in their footsteps, and that is basically what a role model is. Someone whose footsteps you want to / are going to, follow.

Martin Luther King. Because he put his life on the line for his beliefs and never used violence despite the exceptional pressure and violence used upon him and his people he represented. In fact he represented all America because right thinking people, regardless of race or colour, believed in his actions.
PS: Actors are acting for millions of pounds per film, what makes them special ?? I am puzzled by those answers who nominate actors as their role models ,HELP ????

Jeremy Clarkson, Doctor Slow and The Hamster. They all do what they want to do with outrageous enthusiasm and gusto. They have turned a bland show about cars into an across the board appealing experience. Okay, so they are rich, now, but that's not what they started off with. Even The Girlies love the show. Doing what you want to do in life and enjoying the experience. Good role models.

Jesus. He's a good role model. Every human should look up to him (Quite literally) as that is what God intended.

Otherwise, my parents as they have made a decent life for themselves and brought their children into a loving family and provided for them. It seems like problems can just pass them by and when they do get struck, they can fight back with the strength of a storm!

because he is simply the best player in the world and would walk it into any team on this planet. He's also a great role model for young kids. He does not cheat much, he does not have any attitude, despite the media exaggerating what he did, he puts in a lot of effort and commitment and he plays with passion and pride.

It has to be my parents, despite all the hardship they went through in life, they still managed to provide me with food, water, clothing, education and a home. My parents provided me with many opportunities in life, they taught me how to look after myself, to not let anyone put me down, to be kind, helpful and to never look down at anyone. Even though my parents are at an old age today, I will do my best to look after them now. They had a tough life, but never complained. My parents will always be my role model.
