All things to do with war (guns, tanks, rockets, land mines,grenades, etc.) are terrible, as are hard drugs, but the worst of all, in my opinion is the kareoke machine!

ehhh some of those are good automobiles would be better if they were smaller and didnt go as fast guns if we still had muskets, porno is bad. pointed sticks aren't horrible americans are good but they could use some working on t.v. is ok but radio would be better x-mas is good except for the buying of presents it should be low key more like valentines day showing love etc. religion isnt good alchol is bad but it would be better if there was no drinking age because that lowers alcholism rate

Yeah, God was not mankind's high point. Organized religion is still killing people by the millions! When will we learn? We won't! Not in our lifetime.

Gasoline-powered autos are really bad ideas, too. Burning petroleum is such a waste of this amazing liquid! It can do so much in terms of plastics and lubes, to burn it is a sin!

Bipartisan (two party) politics have de-volved into a bunch of hostile cruel commandants, like Cheney, that have no idea of serving their constituents, but every idea of advancing their own party, and the party's moneymen, at the expense of the people.

Guns have not done the world much good. Once guns made it to the battlefields of Europe during the 100 Years War (early 1300s) , then it quickly became fashionable to have guns. Soon every foot soldier had a damn gun, and they weren't worth a damn! Even during the American revolution (1775-1781), both sides could have made short work of the other with a few hundred good-old-fashioned long bows!

American chemist Thomas Midgley invented both CFC coolants for refrigerators - so massively contributing to the depletion of the ozone layer - AND was responsible for developing the lead additive to gasoline! It has been said he has had more effect on Earth's atmosphere than any other single organism.

As for your list, I agree most of those things appear to have had a generally negative effect on humanity and the planet but, equally, most were created as a solution to problems that faced people at a certain point in our evolution, and only became widespread because they had a value to society at the time. Like Mr Midgley each of the inventors / contributors probably believed they were doing the right thing at the time. The consequences of our actions are always impossible to predict, no matter how well intentioned, and even "good" things can become perverted or abused in the wrong hands.

In other words, it's not so much the inventions themselves rather what ends humans use them for.
