That is hurricane season, but it's the beginning of the season. You might, by chance, encounter one, but you never know. Even if a hurricane was forming out in the ocean, you might be clear of the area by the time it makes landfall.

I have some bad news, that is the worst time for hurricaines in September. I remember hearing about how bad they were during the first few weeks of September this year. If you go to youtube and type in Hurricaine in Disney World you can see it for yourself. I recommend, if you can, changing to the last week in September. I went on September 28th and had perfect weather the whole time.

Hurricane season begins in May and ends in November, so during the time you're planning to come, you're right around the middle of the season. I wouldn't reschedule based on what "might" happen. Who knows, you could book something for a week before or a week after you'd originally planned and a hurricane could pop up then. Hurricane season is just too unpredictable to schedule our lives and vacations around. If you happen to be here during a storm, then you just have another story to tell when you get home from vacation!

Don't worry too much about it being hurricane season - you are already booked to go so there's not a lot you can do about it !

A hurricane warning won't be for just the Orlando area - if there is one coming towards Florida then it could be 100s of miles away from you.

If you are unlucky enough to get caught in a hurricane warning area then you will know all about it from the tv and you will be told what to do either by your hotel or by local law enforcement officers etc

It is very unusual for the theme parks to close down - We went to Disney once when there was a hurricane warning on for the day before and we had a great time - the place was practically deserted and we had done all the rides by 1.30 !

Get yourself a rain ponco (99c from Target or Walmart) and you will be fine

I live in Orlando, and have for 25 years. September is in the middle of hurrican season. Hurricane season runs from June 1st, to November 30th. There is no way to predict what the season will hold, I do know August and September seems to be the best times for hurricanes. But Orlando rarely gets them, and honestly they aren't that bad. In 2004 we had 3 with in like 6 weeks, but that is very rare. For the most part we aren't affected to much. Usually its rain, some wind, and then within 24 hours its sunny and just fine.

Hurricanes in Disney World were fun for us as long as you don't mind getting a little wet. I went with my dad and brother in mid August and loved it. We were there through Hurricane Fay last year. They closed the pool and canceled the fireworks which was kind of frustrating but we went to the Magic Kingdom and it was a little chill so we brought our sweat shirts and rode its a small world Pirates of the Caribbean and most of the stuff in Fantasyland that was indoors but there was no wait. We ate in the Pinochio House which overlooks small world and every other boat was going by with out anyone in it. Rain or Shine have fun!!!

Most hotels have there own generators .If you experience a hurricane then just stop in your hotel and watch the world fly by .We were hit by hurricane Jean and it gave us a day to get over our jet lag before going back out where everything had been cleaned up ready for us

You may have a hurricane but i would not worry about it as there is a smaller chance of you having one than not.
