Can someone please help! I need to find out how..?

to drive from Calais, France to Mayrhofen, Austria (which is near Innsbruck).

I am going at the end of March but would like to find directions in advance and also we would be having a stop off at a motel and would like an idea of where is best cheap place which is on route. So any help of finding me a great website... or even better someone who has done a drive similar. So I can get directions and a list of hotels on route.

Also I have never driven abroad and have no clue about toll roads so I do not know how much extra that will cost my journey?

Thank You So Much In Advance If You Can Help Me

Hi,
yes, it is actually quite simple. You keep going east and then slowly descent south. A wonderfully simple tool is www.google.map -> Get Directions. There enter France as your starting country and then enter Calais - France to Mayrhofen - Austria. Now, if you open up additional search options you are able to request 'avoid tolls'! Hit the Go-Button and wait for your route description: It says it is 696 mi – about 10 hours 32 Min's.
European cities and/or highways offer a vast number of budget accommodations like 'Formula One' motels or even motel rooms at the rest areas. But since you are still quite young and your toll free route will guide you through big cities I suggest you become a Youth hostel member and seek out the respectively french, german, austrian hostel network. You can budget approx. EUR 20 per night and person incl. breakfast in a Youth hostel.
All in all, the whole trip should be doable in two days with one sleep-over. It is fairly straightforward, but getting a Michelin map will be a worthy expenditure.

I have been to Mayrhofen myself a number of times and it is indeed a very cute ski resort town with good (i.e. pricey) shops nestled in between towering mountains with a very impressive glacier (Tuxer gletscher) close by. They even have a somewhat regular public transport system available: the school/mail bus is open to any traveller.
Everything is geared towards tourism, so beware of prices and quality!
