Updated Post- Where can I buy fabric online?

I got a sewing machine for Christmas, but unfortunately I didnt get any fabric, and I am DYING to sew something or anything!
I think the shops are closed, so I thought I'd order some online.
Any suggestions where I can buy it?
Thanks.

If you are having the sewing "DT"s, cut up some old clothes that you were going to toss out and make an art quilt. Add some paint, trim and trinkets.

If you are in the US, the only time stores are closed is on the Holiday.

Christmas was Thursday, so you have today and all week-end to shop for fabric.

Here is a site (source) that has free lessons, patterns and projects. Each project will provide you with information as to what you need to buy in the way of fabric and notions.

Sign up (My Account and then Sewing 101).

A good on-line source for fabrics is Fashion Fabrics Club - http://www.fashionfabricsclub.com/

Ebay it okay when you are looking for a fabric that is no longer available in the fabric stores. There is usually not much yardage.

Most market stalls which sell fabric will be open on the 28th.You'd be better off waiting until then rather than relying on the post.

You could try eBay if you really want to buy online.
I've used this site in the past:
    http://www.fabricuk.com/
The only problem with buying online is you don't get to feel the fabric and if you're a beginner, it's probably best to, so you get familar with the various types/feels of fabrics.

    Have fun!

If you're in the States, then order from Hancock's of Paducah, or eQuilter.com. Thousands of fabrics.

If you're in the US, fabric and craft stores are open today. You'd be better off going to a fabric or craft store anyway, because if you don't have any fabric at home, I'm guessing you're new to sewing and will want advice.

Make a note of the make & model of your machine if you need supplies like bobbins or presser feet.

If you've never sewn before, you'll probably want to start out with some cotton broadcloth fabric and get some thread that coordinates. Once you've done some practice runs making seams, a simple project would be a square pillow.

    Good luck!
