Cheap place to stay in Edinburgh?

Hello,

Does anyone have any ideas on a cheap place to stay in on a trip to Edinburgh? We've been checking out travelodge.co.uk, is that the cheapest. (I'd rather spent my money on shopping than on the living arrangements...) My boyfriend and want to go there, we live in Sweden, and are planning to fly over with Ryan Air. No dates have been set yet.

I would recommend a hostel. They are obviously not the most glamourous places to stay but they are basic and affordable.
I recently stayed in cowgate hostel its great because:
1. Its cheap
2. Its right in the centre, about 5 mins away from princess street

Edinburgh is such a lovely city, it is worthwhile visitng. I would go with a Bed & Breakfast deal at one of the many Guesthouses. Try here for contact numbers & bookings. If you wish to Email me, I can suggest a few recommendations.

Edingburgh is an expensive city regards accomadation in fact a total rip off. Travel Lodge is not the cheapest but perhaps the best at the price.Change your plans and visit York its magic and has the Minster and some of the lovliest shops anywhere.

It's an expensive city but you can definitely find some good deals outside the city! Your best bet is BookMe.com. You can compare ALL the reputable sports tickets sites, and save money. Good luck!
