Hey Rob,
Listen son, if you can stick around for a couple of days around here and you'll find some pretty good reasons not to travel on that land.
It is not safe and it is not cool to do this.

Do not trust any jews saying things like: I was there and it's safe or good or beautiful because it aint.
These guys are all after your cash.
Read this

and see how the jews are taking each and every visitor on a ride, just to get his cash.
Them are jews after all aren't they?

im a teenage girl and i lived in israel this summer
it's a wonderful country and unfortunately there are a lot of stray dogs and cats
you should feed them or adopt one because there are 3 million in jerusalem alone, and it's heartbreaking.
plus, im sure your kids would love to say they got a pet in israel!
but anyway, they have a few holiday inns in israel, and those tend to be nice
i think the best time would probably be winter, because it's extremely hot in the summer and sometimes unbearable
be sure to check out tel aviv, the party city, and jerusalem, the holy city
if you get a chance you should go to the dead sea, its the lowest elevation on earth!
and masada is nice and if you get up at 4:30 am and hike it you can make it just in time to see the sunrise! early, but worth it
or you could wait a couple hours and a shuttle will take you up
it's a great country, have fun!

Best time to visit is in December, less touristy... Dan Panorama or Metropolitan Hotel is okay, .... there's some markets on the way south toward Yaffo, just be careful.... also just east of Dan Panorama is the central bus station you can take a shruti which is cheaper... to go to places.. you could also sign up for a day tour up the north coast of israel and go to rosh hanikra to see the sea caves, as long as the lebanese border is calm. They would enjoy akko as well.

Keep your ear to the ground on any possible violence and stay away from it. And also, read the latest State Department briefings on the situation in Israel.
Many professional security services do not recommend travel there. Because if something does go wrong, it might be a bit of a nightmare to get out.

Why not visit Jerusalem? I have a terrible dislike for Tel Aviv. You might as well stay home. It's like any city in the U.S.
