I am thinking of staying at The Seattle Hotel in Brighton?

Is this hotel worth it for a special night away and is the restaurant good enough or should we go into Brighton to eat? I won't a bit of wow factor, lively not romantic. My husbands 40th...

The Seattle is the best place to stay in the Marina and the restaurant is really nice. After dinner you can head down to the Karma bar in the Marina which is a really lively place to go and not full of 18 year olds.

Its decorated really well too

If you do decide to stay at Drakes, do NOT eat in the Gingerman restaurant there. It's awful. Myself and some colleagues had a very disappointing meal there recently, and I would not recommend it.

If you want a nice hotel that's nearer to the centre of town, then the hotel du vin is good. The seattle is great, but remember that it's at the marina rather than in the centre of the city.

The Seattle is a nice hotel situated on the Marina - make sure you get a room with Marina views.

The restaurant is nice but there are better restaurants in Brighton. Preston Street is full of places to eat, as is Brighton in general.

It is worth walking around and seeing what takes your fancy. Very diverse restaurants throughout depending on what you like of course.

Personally, I think its too far out of town and I think the marina is boring.
I'd go for one of the more interesting boutique hotels in the centre.
Drakes
Hotel Una
Pellirocco
Nineteen
etc.
Then you are closer to a much better choise of restaurant.
