Were going on holidays to Dubai and the hotel is collecting us from Abu Dhabi and wer driving from Abu Dhabi airport to The Jumeirah Beach Hotel. How long a drive?...roughly even...

The total amount of time would be 1 hour and 45 minutes including traffic. The speed limit between Shahama and Dubai is 160 KM/h. The speed limit in Dubai is 140KM/h on Sheikh Zayed Road, and once entering Dubai it goes down to 120KM/h. Since the hotel is located in Jumeirah, you would have to take the bridge, wait a few traffic lights, and possibly encounter some traffic along the way, hence as to why the extra 30 minute delay rather than the usual 1 hour 15 minute drive to Dubai. New radars are placed on the left side of the road beside the old radars, so do be careful while driving. Keep in mind if you don't take the first bridge to go to Jumeirah you will pass a Salik gate and will have to pay a fine if you don't have a Salik tag enabled on your car.

may be 1.5 hour if the road is clear (AD airport is outside AD metro area in the direction of Dubai). considering it takes an hour or more to drive from one side of Dubai city to the other because of traffic, this is not bad coming from AD. You enter the emirate of Dubai once you reach Jabel Ali.

about 1 1/2 hrs, but its not fun, dangerous road many accidents unless they have improved it in last few yrs.
