Try this website for London hotels.

Best way to get into London is by the Gatwick Express which will run you into Victoria Station (West End) in about 30 minutes. Go to this website for details:

Victoria is London SW1 so you may want a hotel in that area. try;

Whilst you are in London buy either daily Travelcards (or weekly if you are here that long) - these will give unlimited travel on all public transport within Greater London.

I recommend a trip on the river with Thames Clippers; you can get a Rover Ticket £12 (third off with Travelcard) - you can go past H of P right down to the O2 Dome at Greenwich, getting on and off all day; have a look at the Globe (Bankside Pier), the London Eye and see all sorts of other things. There's a replica Golden Hind near London Bridge, HMS Belfast (London Bridge Pier) opposite the Tower. You can get coffee and snacks on board and the boats are great.

Have a look at Oxford Street, for shops

Recommend National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square, Maritime Museum and Observatory at Greenwich (give Madam Tusauds & London Dungeon a miss).

Go to:

and download bus maps

Download maps of the London Underground and DLR at;

and, to help you get around buy a London A to Z from any good stationery shop (WH Smith at Victoria station).

Hope this info is useful. Have a great time in my home city and if you want any more suggestions on what there is to see, try the official 'Visit London' website at:

Keep Safe, beware pickpockets on stations and keep wallets and mobile phones out of sight.
