Right wing's want war left and right Left wings want to drop off the face of the world with no military and also are borderline communist

Fascism- A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

Both tend to be authoritarian and irrational

The left wingers want to end wealth and privilege

The right wingers believe in the rule of the strong

Both come together in their ruthless willingness to force their beliefs down everybody's throats

Left wing extremists want us all to roll over and let everyone else trample on us and right wing extremists can be considered through studying Hitler.

    Source(s):

fascism .. like the nazis or even the bush administration

a neat trick would be going to google and typing "define fascism" ... it works for all words

Mussolini, the godfather of fascism described it as corporatism.

    left wing = liberal
    right wing = conservative.

Extremists are extremists and it does not matter which party these people represent. They are hard-core and stubbornly passionate about their beliefs. These people feel their way is the only way, and simply cannot even remotely consider an opposing viewpoint. Having a conversation with someone who is extreme, one way or another, simply becomes a shouting match. Many times, people to the extremes connect on untrue statements that have been declared and proven false, yet still hang on to the notion that it is true.

    a) the size of government and social programs (right sees the taking by govt rather than private charity as a loss of liberty to all, with special interests getting more than the difference between what would be given in charity and what is taken in tax; meanwhile the 'money pot' in the treasury draws ever more special interest flys looking for entrenchment, and our taxes fund the 'enemy' to loss of control of our country)

b)fascism is government corporatism and big government control of private aspects of human affairs. See a), above.

    --
folks, most of you are discussing 'reactionaries' on the right, and I'm not sure what, exactly, on the left. Strange Bedfellows that joined to fight FISA and similar cooperation to fight the bailout are examples of the fact that there is a lot of cross over on civil liberties and opposition to special interests on both the principled right and left.

I'm a Ron Paul Republican, some consider us far right despite the fact that we stand for the Constitution, and we fight WITH progressives, often.

Not on legalization of illegal immigration or other expansions of subsidized state programs (which is how we view legalization of illegal immigration), however. See (a) above.

Neither extreme is needed and both extremes have a small minority following - despite their rhetoric and the the fact that they certainly the most vocal.
Overall, I think the far left is more vile and hateful, but neither end of the political spectrum represents mainstream America.
Fascism is essentially absolute control from a central government.

I find it interesting that both the extreme left and the extreme right seem most preoccupied with others in their "wing" they find not extreme enough. Cindy Sheehan and her supporters protest Nancy Pelosi for being soft on the war. Jim DeMint now critizes McCain for abandoning conservative principles.

extremists = radical = marked by a considerable departure from the usual or traditional. Left is liberal and Right is conservative to be extremist would mean you have moved far away from the middle or neutral areas in your beliefs. This obviously can happen on both sides of the political parties.

The political spectrum is often displayed as a line:
    l--C---L----D----ML----cen----MC---R--…
    C= Communist, L=Liberal, D=Democrat, ML= Moderate Left/Liberal, can= centrist or moderate, MC=Moderate conservative, R=republican, Rgt=Right, F=fascist.

But to think about politics correctly, you should think about it as a circle, with Communism and Fascism not being at extreme ends, but very close to each other.
Fascism is an extremely conservative form of government run by the military in which many personal freedoms are ignored.
Communism is an extremely liberal form of government that, in it's final stages, is supposed to be run by the people. However, the military have to control the gov't in its initial stages and like in fascism, personal freedoms are ignored.

So, Right wing extremists (in this country anyway) believe in following tradition to the tee. Even if that means suspending national progression. This means anti-divorce, anti-homosexuality, anti-big government etc. Left wing extremists believe in complete personal freedoms, big government etc, and often rapid (some conservatives would call it "hasty") change/reform.

Left Wing: Robin Hood. Take from the rich and give to the poor. Do so by having government take from the rich, then have inefficient government agencies waste the majority of money, then distribute a the most minor trickle of assets to the needy.

Right Wing: Government exists solely to fight wars and fight crime, and should stay the heck out of the way for all other matters. Unfortunately, the war and crime fighting requires money, so right wingers must also support similar levels of taxation as left wingers. The process is the same: Take money from the rich via taxes, have inefficient government agencies waste the majority of the money, then distribute a woeful trickle of cash to the national defense.

Moral: Extremism is bad in any form. America's largest enemy is its two-party system.

Fascism: Ultra-nationalistic totalitarianism in a single-leader system. In other words, thou shalt swear total allegience to my leadership system, or I shall tear out your intestines.

Very little...it is a circle, not a polar continuum.

I weould like to give you a few quotes from a hero of mine...back in the days when you could be proud to be a Republican.

"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue."

"Equality, rightly understood as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences; wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism."

"A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have."

"I think every good Christian ought to kick Falwell right in the ***."

    - the late Sen. (and Major General) Barry Goldwater

I could go on for pages, but I won't. It is too bad that bopth the Republican and Democratic Parties have been hijacked by what Bill Buckley called the "kooks."

"There are always kooks. The question becomes, Is their strength damaging to the vital and healthy organs of a political movement? The communists took over the American Labor Party. The Birchers did not take over the Republican Party."

    - RIP, Mr. Buckley
