How can you remove the seat releasing mechanism from the passenger seat of a 3 door Ford Fiesta?

I need to remove the lever from the seat that you pull to fold the seat forward to allow access to the rear seats.

Additional Details

I need to do this because the cable that comes from the lever to release the clips has snapped off inside.

The car seat is bolted to the floor of the car with 4 x 10mm bolts. If you undo these bolts you will be able to remove the seat from the car and if you turn the seat upside down you will be able to see the releasing mechanism and how the cable is fitted.

Wouldn't that stop you being able to get in the back from that side?
