I haven't been to a wedding at either, but I have eaten at both, including parties at Moorland Links, where at one party I saw a wedding group having photos taken in the garden.
Both hotels are Dartmoor based. There are attractive sites with bridges, river, etc, at Two Bridges, think it's a bit more "wild", but Moorland Links has lovely gardens. From Plymouth, Moorland Links isn't so far to travel. Do you live in Plymouth? If you can, I would take a few trips out around on Saturdays, and if there is a wedding on at either, quiz guests. Also try having the odd meal at both venues. Service, etc, is pretty standard at a hotel, whatever the function/occasion.
Have to say, neither is cheap.
