Budget Weekend In London?

Question

Looking for a place to stay in London for 2 nights from the 9th-11th January at a budget price but close to all the attractions.
Best Iv found so far is a Travelodge in Covent Garden for £75 per room per night.
This is based on a 2 sharing, double room with en-suite
Any ideas??

Have you seen that Travelodge have a budget deal if you book online in advance? Click on the coloured saver deals on their home page. You can go much cheaper than you just said. I've stayed in that hotel and was satisfied with it. There are other TLs in the centre which you can see on their site.

this is an oxymoron as London is anything but a "Budget" destination

If I was staying I would go to the Union Jack club which is a military and ex military hotel in waterloo. (also for the emergency services and civil service) Anywhere else and you risk amputation (It'll cost you an arm and a leg!!)

I do not know if you mind staying in a hostel, I stayed in one when I went to NYC and it was really nice, and I met a lot of people from all over the world.

Try Holiday Inn maybe?
But really thats probably the best your gonna get that central.
