How do you buy motor insurance for Montenegro, Albania and Macedonia?

I have already booked hotels for a car trip in a UK-plated car from Dubrovnik to Greece - but I cannot discover how to get insurance

Ask your insurance broker to help you on that. You pay some little extra amount and they cover you for any place you mention to them.


Personally I would try to avoid driving through the countries you mention, on account of the animosity that people feel for their neighbors, but the fact that you have UK plates will be an advantage.

Make sure to get insurance against theft, too. Also, it would be best to get to Greece through Italy (you get the ferry in Venice or Ancona or Brindisi), and not drive through Albania and Fyrom.

Its not Macedonia its FYR Macedonia.

Macedonia is a northern state in Greece where Alexander the Great was from.
