Does anyone know what kabbalah is?

I read about it in a book on Arthur Rimbaud and I've looked at the wikipedia page but is it different to that weird celebrity cult- the red band thing?

The kabbalah is a school of mysticism based on the supposed significance of numbers and letters.

It is very old, very silly, and has recently been rehashed and flogged to new-age idiots with more money than sense.

That celebrity red band thing is bulls**t. IAnything Madusa I mean Madonna does is bulls**t. Ignore it and keep researching. It's a beautiful mystic version of Judaism. I studied it a bit in college and was very moved by it's core values.

Kabbalah is Jewish mysticism and involves a certain way of reading and interpreting the Torah, the holy Jewish text. Traditionally only Jews well versed in Torah approach Kabbalah and in the past, those under the age of 40 were not meant to study it at all.

Madonna is not studying proper Kabbalah. Whatever she is doing has nothing to do with Judaism. Nothing.
