Flying cheaper by breaking up the journey?

Anyone good at travel knowledge around Africa? To fly from London to Ghana (return) to visit my brother for Christmas is £650. If i go to Morocco first (£90 return) then on to Ghana (£380 return) it's £470 in total, and hotels are very cheap there. Does anyone know an even better route which will save more money?

Maybe Canaries or Tunisia?

Good idea in this case. Flights to Morocco are probably cheap(er) thanks much to Ryanair.

Try http://www.cheapflights.co.uk to see sample prices to Tunisia or other destinations in Africa... and also check it for London-Ghana, too -- there might be a good offer.

From Africa, you can check several airports simultaneously with http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispat… List the airport names separated with only a semicolon and no spaces. For example, from CMN;TUN;CAI to ACC. Note any connecting cities on cheapest flights, and try straight from London to the connecting city instead--to see if it's cheaper that way.
