Why should i stay in LA, Santa Monica (hotel are pricey) Marina del Rey or Venice?

Even though hotels are pricey in Santa Monica, you should stay there because it is closer to other attractions, and has a great pier. Try the Holiday Inn... good location, not too pricey.

You could aways stay home. Hotels near the beach are very pricy in the summer because this is where poeple want to be! Even locals that live in other parts of LA rent vacation homes or stay at a hotel by the beach to get away. In our valleys it is 105 degrees on a summer day,at the beach it is about 80. It's location location location

pink, you are right , hotels near the beach are quite pricey, If you have to save money you might try Hermosa or Redondo Beaches and stay several blocks back from the beach..
