Has anyone else had problems with Mitsubishi Colt head lamps?

I've had to get my head lamps changed 6 times in three years. I think there's a design fault on the Colt Elegance but Mitsubishi deny it stating that if I keep the lights clean it will stop the bulbs going all the time. I've tried this and it doesn't work. Has anyone else had similar problems?

The reason why your car head lamps keep blowing is because the supplied voltage could had been not properly regulated. Check the regulators, a shorted or leaky regulator triggers your lamps to always burn out. Try replacing them, regulators come in socket types that easily come off when properly pulled. Regulators are the ones responsible in regulating the current supplied on car lamps, fog lights, tail lights, car a/c and radio.

Not a colt but I have a similar problem with a Nissan micra. Fuse box and light unit have been changed but bulbs keep blowing ......... not been able to solve it & just have to keep checking the bulb (only the main beam blows on one unit .... strange). I guess there must be a short in the circuit somewhere :)
