Why is there so many U.K. flags around in the U.S.A and not so many U.S.A flags in the U.K.?

Iam a welsh american living in Cardiff and when i went to America for a while(NE) there was loads of Union Jacks flying high in NYC but when i come home i relised there wernt so many USA flags in Cardiff, the only ones i ve seen in Cardiff are on the HIlton Hotel, the Marriot Hotel, The Welsh Assembly debating chamber and Cardiff Castle and occacionaly outside St David Hotel. I ve also got an American and a Union Jack on my Wall in my bedroom. Why isent Britain so intrested in America than America is intrested in us?

I think it's really just because the US is so much more into flying flags than in the UK. In the UK, you really only get flags flying on public buildings, hotels etc., yet here in the US it's really quite common to see private homes with their own flagpoles. Anyone doing that in the UK would be seen as quite eccentric, I think!

i think it's that we are as interested, but we just don't show it as much.
to be honest, you don't really see many flags around the uk anyway, whether it's a different country or our own.
i've been to america many times and they have so many flags around for not only their own country but ours also,
the only time the uk really does have any flags out at all is when the footballs on.
which actually really irritates me.

There is also 2 in London one on the American Embassy and the other on top of the navy building both in Grosvenor square. But I get your point and if you get a proper answer please let me know why.

To be honest, I think it's down to us Brits just not being into flag waving, we only usually fly foreign flags only on hotels etc to show how international they are, or on foreign owned businesses and consulates etc.

Nothing to do with being disinterested..just not our cup of tea.

Britain is forever interested in America,the trouble is that anywhere flying the stars and stripes would unfortunatly become a potential terrorist target.

Probably because the idiots on the local borough councils won't even allow us to fly a St.George's Flag - let alone anybody else's ! ! !

That's a really good question! In fact, I was just wondering that today, as I seen many UK flags. . .I really don't know tho to be honest.

prob cuz we're a nation that is relying more & more on other countries & european countries are self-relient and they don't really care that much about us.

I am British, i was born in Cornwall and i still live here 20 years later. I went to new york city in 2006, i love america. i have an aunty who was born in norwich, who then moved to the usa when she met (who is now her husband) from the usa airforce.. I remember that in the usa, yes, a lot of uk flags. but i guess that we here in england care more about our own country, yes we find america very interesting, and i just LOVE their accents but yeah i guess we are not really very well educated about america...i used to hate americans until i actually WENT there and noticed how kind they are, maybe its just the UK media and how they portray americans to us, we have negative view on Bush ect...only shown america's stupid ways...i dont know...England is no way perfect either, but..oh well.
