Hotels in Budapest...?

Question

Hi, my friend and I are going to Budapest for 3 days in May, however, we need a hotel or hostel to stay in. We dont want something that is luxourious or pricey, we are looking for something budgeted that is in the city centre of Budapest, and not on the outskirts. Anyone have any recommendations?

My other half and myself found a cheap and cheerful place quite near the city centre in Budapest through this website: www.hostelworld.com. It was a budget hotel housed in a gorgeous building from the early 1800s. Apparently it had been used as an orphanage during the Communist era and was supposed to have been haunted, but we never saw any ghosts.

Just type in hotels budapest and checkout the response....oh and you might wanna watch out for the East European maffia...they crawl up out of the sidewalks in that region of the World. These are the same types who think Western prisons are hotels.!

try the avante guard under the bridges, tram stations, metro etc.
its quite safe and free. all you need is a sleeping bag.
