Cheap hotel in Oxford?

Question

Could anyone suggest a cheap hotel in Oxford? I have never been before, am a woman on my own, travelling by train and am going on a course in Oxford near to the theatre. Therefore the hotel has to be within walking distance of both the theatre and station and very reasonable (as my employer is paying). I've tried the youth hostel but it is full for the night I am going, and the travelodge, frankly at 3 miles from the centre is too far to walk.
Please help! I spent all day yesterday on the internet looking!

There is a park and ride you can use next to the travelodge at peartree. You don't have to park a car just use the bus.
