Montego Bay or Negril?? Help please!?

Question

Hi,
I'm currently looking at going to Jamaica in May and i need some help deciding which place to stay....does anyone have any comments on Negril or Montego Bay? Thye both look beautiful which is making the decision really hard!

Also, has anyone got any recommendations on hotels? i fell in love with Rose Hall in Montego Bay, but its quite expensive. i finish uni in may so am looking for something really special to help me celebrate. anything upto £1000 for two weeks i'd consider, maybe something central to a town so there are things to do outside the hotel?

Negril Negril Negril. It is soooooo much better than Mo Bay. Negril is so peaceful and much better experience .

I have been to both places and negril is better in my opion more laid back you reall can enjoy all it has to offer. I stayed at Samsara& Legends.You can google this they were wonderful. Sunsets are just spectacular. Check out Ricks Cafe it looks really nice.

Negril. The beaches are better. Also Mobay is a little more touristy.

never been to either, only ocho rios,
but I heard from many people that Negril is by far the best place to stay in Jamaica.

Negril definetely. It's the best vacation I have ever had. Seven miles of white sand beach, quiet, laid back and safe. Try to get a Flaming Bob Marley drink. You'll love it and love Negril.

Negril. Montego is just alright and not as nice or private.

Quite a difference between Negril and Montego Bay.

Montego Bay is more crowded and more commercial.

Negril less people, more open beauty with less people on the beaches, lots of water sports. A variety of smaller cheaper hotels also. If you stayed at such a night hotel before I would not down grade too much.
There is also in Negril the famous Rick's Cafe and Jimmy Buffet club(one of these in Mobay also).

Your best bet is always a travel agent who specializes in the Caribbean, it is worth the extra $20 for the advise.

When i went MONTEGO BAY i thought it was so peaceful and good for tourist and the people their were very helpful, when my neighbour went NEGRIL she said that it wasn't as good as MONTEGO BAY.

I've been to Montego Bay and it was the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The planation was cool and so was the waterfall
