Anyone been married in jamaica ocho rios couples hotel? how was it?

i'm getting married in this hotel in january and wanted any views/comments or tips

That's where my hubby and I went on our honeymoon last year on June 30th. It was absolutely beautiful! We didn't get married there, but we saw plenty of weddings and they were exquisite. The photographers were good - we took beach and twilight photos and they turned out really nice. Make sure you go for dinner for two on the beach. My hubby got that for us, and I loved it. There's plenty of nightlife at the resort itself. You can choose the beach side (that's where we stayed), or across the street (the more social area). They always have music going on, water sports, the whole deal. And No kids, which I loved. The staff is great, and the food was too. Make sure you tell all the staff that you're getting married right when you arrive because they'll treat you like gold the rest of the trip. One thing to be cautious of... if you leave the resort be careful of people scamming you. It's really easy to be had and you'll have no idea what hit you. We got scammed by the people there twice. Once when we landed from the plane (the driver told us the food cost one thing and then ran off with our money!), and once at the waterfalls... they make you walk through a craft village and they'll trick you by asking you you're name and then carve it into little wood craft things. They'll follow you to the hotel to be paid. Other than the outside stuff we really had a great time! I think you will too - best to you in your marriage! :)

I was married there it it was awesome. We had the best time there. I would love to go back. You really can't go wrong there.

iv just come back from a Cruise yest in fact. my advice to you is go by all means,its a real eye opener, Dunn's river falls is a must,but go with other couples if you can,the place is a dump,in fact its a pile,people hound you to bye and this is even if you are travelling on a bus,if you have to go pick the best of the best cos believe me when i say the place is rife with thieves,only take small amounts of money out with you,and keep tight a hold of your camera and anything else.i don't mean to frighten you but honest your about to see a different world to the one you come from.I'm glad i went,but I'm sure glad to be back home

Went to Couples Ocho Rios 3 years ago and got married at Couples Negril last year.

I would definately recommend the Couples chain as great places to stay and the wedding at Negril was fantastic. I'm sure they'll be just as good in Ocho Rios.
