Cape Town or Johannesburg.....World Monopoly Map?

Question

If you follow this link there is an article about Cape Town being put on the World Monopoly Map for greatest cities....however as a native of Joburg I must beg to differ. Joburg is the unofficial capital of South Africa. Joburg holds the record for the fastest grown city in history (veld to city in 20 years). Joburg has witnessed most of the major action in South African history and produced some of the greatest South African "brands", kwaito, Sophiatown jazz, Soweto, the mines and the gold etc etc. I know Joburg is not as "pretty" or historic as Cape Town, but for me Joburg represents South Africa for all her good and bad, so I would vote for Joburg..... What does everyone else think?

Additional Details

I know CT has its merits but in the grand scheme of world history, Joburg has contributed far more than a nice view and some good wine.... Anyway, I voted for Joburg!

LOL! I,m a vaalie too MJ, but I have to admit defeat as far as Cape Town is concerned. Cape has much more flair than Jhb. Let's be gracious and concede. LOL!!!

As a child I lived in Joburg for awhile I think to a point you are right but most people when thinking of South Africa will think of Capetown its a sort of gateway in that area.

I remember well travelling on a train for three days to get from Capetown to Joburg when we first arrived and nothing will take away the atmosphere of this journey the different sights I saw. The most breathtaking thing the view from the top of Table Mountain so I think maybe for now you will have to give in to Capetown. Its over 30 years since i was there so I would love to see the change.

Lol MJ I grew up in Durbs so to me me it's always gonna be Durbs.But Alf is very insulting to our Country,there's not shacks all over the country,I think a lot of English and Scotd for that matter will eat their hearts out just to live in a house in South Africa,we have more space and don't live in one anohters pockets.xxxx

Even as a Johannesburger, I agree that we need to support Cape Town since it is already on the list, so let's vote for it BUT also let's keep nominating Johannesburg as a wild card, can you imagine how cool that would be if both CT and Jhb were included.
