How much does it cost to have bmw plug my car into their computer?

Question

My 3 series has an intermittent wiper problem and I have been told to go to bmw so they can plug into the ecu and diagnose the fault...

So I dont get ripped off can anyone tell me roughly what is a fair price for simply diagnosing the fault please?

Go to a BMW specailist that has the same equipment, it will be a lot cheaper. If car is under 3 years old it will be free at BMW. Main dealer will charge around £80 for this initial check.

Hello,

(ANS) My advise would be to phone up at least x3 or x4 BMW garages and ask them how much they charge for diagnosing and fixing this problem. That way you will be able to judge for yourself if you think the prices are reasonable or just rip off.
