dear cassy,

I' m italian.

from Bergamo (Orio al Serio) for Milan there is the buses. - every 30 minutes. - (euro 7,90)

you will arrive with the bus to the Stazione Centrale of Milan - (alert for pickpocket!)

from the Stazione Centrale you can take the (underground) METRO MM 3 in order to go to the Dome (Duomo).

you have already a hotel? where?
you want to go to the youth hostel? (euro 19) - it is to 8 km. from the Stazione Centrale (MM3) - --

in order to eat there are many places to low cost also in center city.

if you to the need of other information, perhaps, I can give you.

sorry for my English
bye, bechi

Central Station and Crso Buenos Aires are close to the city centre, you can easily get about using the Metro from these places.

I'm not sure about getting from Bergamo Airport to Milan, but I'm sure there's a bus, or train. The Italian public transport system is good.

As for cheap food and drink. Milan is like anyother big city, you can get cheap food and drink but you may have to look for them, I've listed some web pages that should give you some more information.

Food and drink is expensive near the tourist spots, for example Duomo.

Hi I flew to Bergamo last summer-all you have to do at the airport is to look for the signs saying 'BUS', you'll go out of the terminal and you'll see lots of buses, most of which go to Milano (I took Autostradale-I think it's the cheapest one, some 12 EURO for a return ticket).
It take about an hour (depending on traffic) to arrive at Milano Central Station, from there it's best to take an underground (although u may prefer to take a taxi-which are quite expensive to be honest).
The area around the central station doesn't have a good reputation, so I would recommend the one in corso Buenos Aires (it's quite a busy street though). There's no need to worry about the distance from the city centre-the area is well-connected by the underground.
