Bring plenty of warm clothes as winter is upon us. It's turned bitter cold recently. Bring a brolly as it will probably rain on you. It depends where you are staying as to the expense. If you are going to be staying in the South, London it will be more expensive than in my neck of the woods. Just have a good time and enjoy yourself. x

I think you'll find England pretty expensive, I did. There is a lot to do though, just be prepared for lots of damp, rainy weather. If you have the time, try the Republic of Ireland - they are in the European Union & the Euro goes further than the Brittish Pound. People are friendlier and it is 1000 times prettier. Dublin is a great town to start or finish with. Keep in mind also that the Autumn season has begun so it will be pretty cool. Enjoy yourself!

I live just barely outside London in NW Kent. It is very expensive here. We find staying at hotels here astronomical. Entrance fees to shows, themes, cinema etc too. However it is a fantastic city and a must see. You must decide what you you want from your trip before you come otherwise you will be overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of choice. Look for the freebies like the British Museum for example, it's a must.

the rain has started so bring a brolly, and rule of thumb the further north you go the cheaper it gets, there are some nice places other than the capital, hope you enjoy your stay, and remember if you need sun your only 2 hrs away from Spain...

Plenty of historic sights in London but London is a dirty, expensive and violent city (many more murders than New York) so be careful and do not stray off the tourist areas. Street crime with knives is very common, do not resist just hand over your money.

Really be careful and you will enjoy a day or two in the "tourist" capital then get out and see some of the safer places such as Bath (110 miles away), Oxford (50miles) and maybe even Cardiff the Welsh capital - a compact clean city much friendlier and cheaper than London.

Rail transport is quite expensive unless you can book ahead so consider coach transport - National Express is the main one and you will see more of the country.
