Hi im going to memphis for the ffirst time this month?

Question

im taking my my teenage son and my mum we are staying at the peabody for 5 nights whats it like and is it best to get money changed before we go where is it safe to walk around day or eve and will 4 days be long enough thankks x

Memphis is great. Mud Island is a wonderful family place. If you get a chance, go down to Beale street before 10pm. That way you can still hear the music, but avoid some of the drunks. Don't miss the Civil Rights museum; take the streetcar to get there. Memphis is great as far as parking once during the day, and then walking/taking cheap public transportation. Four days should be long enough. Talk to the concierge at the hotel as far as money changing. Most of the places I have mentioned are safe, but the concierge will have tips, too. Have fun!

take with you dollar travellers cheques they are used just like cash over in america no need to change them at the hotel,we have used them for years everywhere weve been.

you must go to gracelands whilst your there,but there to much to list we went on a trip on the river that was one not to miss .seems to be a lot more happening since we went,which was a while ago. so visit this site for uptodate info

Well, I don't know what exact day you are showing up this month...but the Delta Fair will be going on starting on Aug.31 at the Agricenter. Beale Street is safe--anytime. Police are always on the street down there..ALL THE TIME. And cameras. Memphis Zoo is great....Bbq ribs at Charles Vergos....Botanic Gardens..Pink Palace...Civil Rights Musuem...Hueys (great burgers and music)....
