And while I'm at it, why do the crowd boo and cheer all through the live show, then as soon as Davina's talking to the house, you don't hear a peep from 'em.
What's THAT about?

Hmmm. It never stopped the crowd before. That "Get so-and-so out" chanting on a friday's my fave bit!

i've been thinking the same thing ,those boos previous to davina announcing his and caroles name were really loud and then suddenly they were cheering wtf was that all about , maybe they were cheering not because he was liked but because the hms had finally got rid of him , anyway it worked well for effect. because the remainding hms now think he is popular , which will intimidate them if they hear the boos / cheers when their time comes to go

gerry got a cheer because he told the gurus to choose him for eviction instead of carole. the crowd probably shut up because they are told too stop

Both cos it's coming to the end of the series;

They probably tell the crowd to keep it zipped when Davina's talking to the house so the housemates can't guess who the more popular ones are.

And Gerry probably got a big cheer cos when it's coming to the end of a series, people get all excited when a housemate is coming out after they've been in there so long.

That's my guess ayway!

The cheering you hear all through the live show is a "recording" so that the housemates cant hear whats going on. The recording is switched off when the go live on air.

The crowd have been waiting for the housemate to come out and excitement builds up as they exit.
As Davina asks for people to ring in and vote you can usually tell from the loudest boos who will be going

I think Gerry got a loud cheer because he told the gurus that he would go out not Carrol!This was nice of him because he had so many arguments with Carrol previously!

They disliked Carole more. And, compared to Charley he wasn't a ***** and things. They just liked him. They thought what he did to keep Carole in was very nice.

Because the crowd fell into the mind trap which Gerry had set by telling the gurus to send him out.

Because he did the magnanimous thing and volunteered so the gurus did not have the agony of having to choose him or Carole. I think the crowd respected him at that moment in time. As to them stopping when Davina is talking to the house my guess is they are ordered not to while Davina is speaking.
