Does anyone know if a window motor from a different car will suit my 1968 Aston Martin DB6?

The o/s window motor on my 1968 Aston Martin DB6 is not working. Pls advise on a motor from a different car that will be compatible with the 1968 DB6.Probably form a Polo or Corsa etc.

Hi Ryan. Glad to see someone is keeping the spirit of true motoring alive! If My memory serves Me well, Aston at that time were sourcing parts from the larger Leyland cars. The window motor is almost certainly from Lucas, You might try starting there. How about the owners club? I don't know about A.M. but My own club (R.S.S.O.C.) publishes a little pamphlet called "Alterparts" listing possible donors for almost everything. Have You considered a repair to the existing motor? Most Astons use Lucas parts, the majority of which would have come from typically British Leyland cars, in this case probably Jaguar (Mk10, 420G etc)

take the motor off, get the part number and contact Lucas, its probably just stuck brushes.

Aston where made up of rubbish parts from old BMC and rover find one of them with electic windows from about the same year and it will probably fit

r u tryin to tell us that u have a very expensive vintage aston martin DB6 and you want to destroy it by putting corsa parts on it or worse than that vw now if you had said jag parts or old british leyland mini parts or summit u would be believeable but u are not im affraid if you had the above named car you would fix old part or buy second hand dealer part for a DB6 not corsa parts u must think we are all stupid

I think you're asking the wrong group here man. If you have an Aston, a vintage one at that, take it somewhere to be repaired.

I highly doubt that any other make will cross reference, and if it does it will be of the same vintage and nearly the same price I'm sure. Good luck.
